Moments from the Classroom

Moments from the Classroom

“Goal setting he been helpful! We have many parents who are now involved and having conversations with their child about goals. Students are sharing their goals with peers and also now sharing their successes!”
Isabel Campbell Elementary School Teacher in Grand Prairie, AB

Moments from the Classroom

“Thank you for the pizza and we loved having Amelia Smart at our school. We got to ask her questions and to get to know her story. We also got to know her better. We really enjoyed our day with Amelia.”

Moments from the Classroom

“Shelby Newkirk spoke to two of our classes at Wonowon Elementary! Grade 2/3 and 7/8/9 came together with many questions! The kids were curious about what speeds she can swim, what she eats and where she travels. Shelby has a lot going on and was gracious to answer all of our questions with a thoughtful answer. We really enjoyed our Classroom Champion meet up!”

Cook Children’s Hospital & Kid Power

This year, we expanded our reach across Cook’s area of operation, delivering engaging Classroom Champions content to support youth in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas.

In addition to our partnership with Cook Children’s through Kid Power, we also continued our collaboration with other partners like Blippi, Epic, Laurie Berkner, and DreamWorks. These partners provided a diverse range of engaging educational content that kept students motivated and excited to learn throughout the year.

125 new videos with over 87,000 views

We introduced new programming for grades 6–8, offering age-appropriate lessons and themes that connect with students at their level. To enhance support for all students, we also included Spanish-language content and subtitles, ensuring accessibility for a broader range of students and families.

Pro Partnerships

We teamed up with the Calgary Flames Foundation, CSEC, and Desjardins Insurance to launch CGY Champs built specifically for Calgary-area students, families, and educators. The program features over 140 exclusive, student-facing videos from CSEC athletes, helping kids build important life skills like resilience, teamwork, and goal setting. With familiar faces from the Flames and Stampeders delivering content through gamified, engaging lessons, CGY Champs is already making an impact—and this is just the start. Stay tuned as the partnership continues to grow in the year ahead.

Concert For Classrooms

This year’s Concert for Classrooms raised an incredible $402,729, with unforgettable performances by Barney Bentall and the Cariboo Express in Calgary and Toronto. The events united communities to support Classroom Champions' mission of connecting youth with world-class athlete mentors.

Thanks to Craig and Cara Senyk, who matched donations in both cities, and Chairman Dave Pottruck, who provided a 1:3 match for all proceeds, the impact was amplified even further. Presenting sponsor Mawer and numerous song sponsors also played a critical role in making these evenings a success.

These funds will help expand Classroom Champions’ Mentorship and Curricular programs, bringing inspiration and support to more students and teachers across North America.
